I have nothing but positive things to say about this business! I called with a problem, was given accurate, precise information by Dennis. Brought the car in was treated respectfully by a knowledgeable, professional person. My car needed to be there a few days to order a part. I was called regularly to be informed about the progress of my car which was done 2 days before the promised date and the estimate was exact. I’d recommend this business to everyone.

Took care of issue. Gave honest feedback and did not try to up sell services not needed.

This place is the best car repair in Santa Cruz. I found them by cross-checking AAA approved places with positive reviews on Yelp and this place had the best reviews on both. They were very professional and took good care of my Miata. They were also nice enough to arrange payment with my dad over the phone and even sent me a thank you letter with a magnet and business cards afterwards. They also cover a wide range of car issues. They were prompt, courteous, professional and family-owned so you know you're helping support local businesses. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else in Santa Cruz

The battery on my Prius died and they were able to get me in on a Friday morning and were done by Friday afternoon. Definitely saved me much hassle! Very satisfied with customer service and mechanics. Will definitely be returning.

Friendly folks, very accessible, reliable work, and most of all honest with pricing. I typically check the blue book hours and part prices when I go to mechanics, and they've always been reasonable and up front about costs.* Also their inspections are very thorough, and have saved me some heartache, all without a hard sell. All in all highly recommended. (* Please keep in mind what cost of living is when you check billing hours. A shop in rural North Dakota might do a job for $80/hr, but a mechanic here doing a physically demanding and dirty job deserves a living wage.)

Dropped off in the morning to have work on lug nuts and studs on left rear wheel (that I screwed up). Got the car back the same day. Made trip to SLO and back with no issues. Great Job!!

A Christmas miracle. I took my daughter's car in for an oil change and much-needed windshield wipers. The check engine light was on, but I was low on fuel and thought that was the only issue. The water Star Motors team identified a cracked radiator and thermostat problem. This was the day before Christmas Eve and I didn't come in with an appointment. In spite of all that they were able to replace the radiator and service the vehicle getting it back to me before the holiday. Christmas saved as I didn't have to Uber around or rent a car. I was towed to Water Star Motors in a Saturday morning after my BMW 535 iX died on the shoulder oh Hwy 1. They were closed but Christine happened to arrive to help another customer on her day off. She put my car in the garage for safe keeping over the weekend. Christine called me early Monday morning to give me my car’s diagnosis- my water pump and housing needed replacement - and the price for the job. The parts were ordered on Monday and my car was finished late Tuesday evening. The whole Water Star Motors experience was amazing. They were efficient and well priced. Christine is a gem. She was so incredibly kind. I will be using Water Star Motors as my “go to” shop when my car needs servicing.

As a single woman who knows nothing about cars, I always feel great bringing my car to Water Star. They have impeccable integrity and can always be trusted to tell you what is needed, and offer economical alternatives if there are any. I've relied on Water Star for over 3 years. They are in a league of their own.
