I have been going to Water Star Motors for the past 5 years and I do not consider myself a "green person". Yes, I just outed myself in one of the most "green" citys in California. It's okay, I am not worried because, since going to Water Star Motors I am becoming a "greener" person and am proud of it. You see, Henry and Lisa Carter are the owners and get this, Lisa is a certified mechanic, my type of gal! They were the first Santa Cruz City Certified Green Business and State of California Certified Green Business. In addition, they are AAA approved auto repair center, which means they is no foul in around with their reputation! Henry has 30 years working as a professional technician and Hybrid vehicle class certified. How do I know this well, their little office, which is not fancy but who cares when you know the job is being done right, well the office has a ton of certification plaques on the walls. Also both Henry and Lisa have taken the time talk to me about the high pitched noise coming from my car when the dealer just looked the other way. I work in health care and i am into certifications, quality means something to me. I also listen to talk radio, not sure if that helps me be greener or not but Henry and Lisa are the co-creator of "If My Car Could Talk" radio. show. The Star Waters Team are friendly, honest, and simply the best auto repair service in Santa Cruz County. Where else can you get the boss son, Dan, to drive you to work in the morning and be on time! Henry, Lisa, Dan, Jim and Troy are super stars at Water Star Motors. I have now referred 3 different people to these stars and well, my Car-ma and my growing "Greenness" are doing great! Thank you Water Star Motors for giving me one less thing tho worry about,I know my car is safe and well cared for life!

Great customer service. They always have my car ready for me when they say they will, too. I have had a couple of repairs I've had to bring back again, though. Also, the price tends to be higher than other garages. But, you get what you pay for, and they're always willing to make things right. Very friendly and knowledgeable.

They did a great job rebuilding my ancient Mercedes engine. Henry seemed to truly love my car, and he did not charge me for a lot of extra work he did to make sure my car ran perfectly.

Water Star Motors is great local auto shop that you can trust. I needed a same day appointment to get an over due smog check for my vehicle done in order to finish paperwork for my pink slips. Water Star Motors fit me into their already busy schedule and upon arrival I was greeted at the door with a smile. In less than 10 minutes after getting check in, a mechanic stopped his work in progress and stated on my smog test. While waiting for the test to be completed, I was talking with another mechanic at the front desk about how much noise the belts in my engine make and he kindly had the smog technician check them out. After the smog test was completed the mechanic reported that the belts in my engine are only noisy and just need to be tightened, which was a relief. It was so refreshing to get the extra time, care and customer service from an auto shop that was already set in motion. I plan on making another appointment very soon to have my belts tightened and a few other maintenance issues taken care of on my vehicle.

I just happened to have my Jetta towed into Water Star Motors when it stopped starting at a nearby location (turned out to be the timing belt). Despite needing an expensive repair, I had a great experience! The communication from their staff was fast, clear and helpful and the work was completed quickly and for cheaper than promised! Their people are friendly and I was up and running again in no time! I will definitely use them again the future.

Great customer service. I happened upon them a couple of years back and decided to use them exclusively for my auto care. Excellent mechanics and very nice people.

If I could write this review with the top of the line pen that says "we love our customers" that I got at Water Star Motors, I would. They do love their customers and it shows. I received amazingly efficient, professional and friendly service. The awards gracing the walls of this shop are well deserved. I have told five friends about this place since my first visit yesterday.

Water Star Motors has kept my 1996 Subaru running great with over 200,000 miles on it. I've been a customer since 2007.

Honest, reliable, courteous, talented.... Henry, Lisa, Dan, et al are an amazing team. They treat me with respect, listen to my thoughts about my car as if I actually might know what I'm talking about. Their diagnoses are thorough, estimates fair, worktimely and of high quality. They're a green business and have no problem working on a car that runs Biodiesel and has many individual quirks. These guys are GREAT!

As always Lisa and Henry came through with their excellent service and advice. They got the car in within 24 hours and I got the car and the potential issues list back the next day. I have since purchased the car and will be returning to them for the work.
